KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) - A man and a woman are in custody following a Blount County car chase Wednesday afternoon, Blount County Sheriff officials confirmed.

The two led deputies on a 10-minute chase in the Middle Settlements area of Blount County after stealing a car, officials said.

“A man and woman are in custody following a 10 - 15 minute pursuit that began when the deputy initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle reported stolen out of Knox County on June 2, and the driver failed to stop. The driver finally stopped after striking a tree,” a spokesperson with the sheriff’s office told WVLT News.

According to deputies, the suspects crashed the car ending the chase. The car is now in custody of the BCSO.

An AMR ambulance was called to the location of the crash to check over the two involved in the crash, but no deputies were injured, officials said.
