Construction worker dies at Oak Ridge Highway work site

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) - A worker is dead after an incident at a Knoxville Jenkins and Stiles construction site.

A spokesperson for the Tennessee Occupational Safety and Health Administration (TOSHA) said the department was notified Thursday, April 15, of a workplace fatality at a construction site located at 7640 Oak Ridge Highway.

TOSHA has opened an investigation into the incident.

“TOSHA will conduct and complete and thorough investigation into this fatality. The agency typically surveys the scene, reviews company records, procedures, and conducts interviews during its investigations,” a TOSHA spokesperson told WVLT News.

TOSHA said a fatality investigation can take between eight and ten weeks. No preliminary information will be released on the incident before the investigation is completed.
